この田のドロと、ワラと、木の枝で、舟をつくろう。
今にも崩れてしまいそうな、ドロの舟を。
I will make a boat with mud, straws and branches picked up in this rice field

 | ヒトが営々と築き上げてきた文明も歴史も財産も、 すべて、舟に積み込もう。
今にも沈没しそうな、傾いたドロ舟に。
Load everything into the boat - civilizations, histories, and wealth that mankind has so far drudgingly built up

| 借りていたものすべてを返すため、 かなたの地平線に沈みゆく夕日に捧げるため。
To return all to the sun that is going down beyond the horizon

| 大いなる流れのなかで、 ヒトはこのドロ舟のようにはかないものなのだと、
ほんのひととき肉体といういれものを借りていたにすぎないと、
傲慢さと執着心を捨て去ろう。 Involved in the irresistible stream, mankind is as ephemeral as this mud-boat
We temporarily shroud ourselves in a visible form called mortal body
Why is it so hard for us to set ourselves free from the material world?
